Your daughter might be a genius. Well, there's always a reason why we do things that we do, that's why we should always be understandable with a matter like this. Perhaps, your daughter know that your dissertation can come up with a better result that's why she did that and proved that the supposed result you had was wrong. I am sure she does not intend to prove you wrong or make you feel that she is better than you. That can never happen. Instead, you should be proud of your daughter because she really cares about her education!
